About Winner

Since August 1995 Igor Skrypnyk worked in the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy as Assistant (1995-1998), Associate Professor (1998-2004), Professor of the Department of Postgraduate Education for Physicians (2004-2008) and Head of Department of Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine (2008-2011).

Head of the Department of Internal Medicine No 1 (2011-2017).

Since January 2017 - Professor of the Department of Internal Medicine No 1.

Since February 2010 – Vice-Rector of the Scientific-Pedagogical Work and Postgraduate Education.

Igor Skrypnyk and his scholars suggested original methods of treatment for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, peptic ulcer with comorbid type 2 diabetes mellitus, and for alcoholic liver disease taking into consideration the gut microbiota status.

Member of the European Association for the Study of the Liver, American Gastroenterological Association, European Pancreatic Club, International Association of Pancreatology, European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility, Managing Board of Ukrainian Therapeutic Society.

Member of Editorial Boards of scientific journals, such as “World Journal of Hepatology” (USA), “TEKA” (Poland), “Modern Gastroenterology”, “Gastroenterology”, “Bulletin of Problems in Biology and Medicine”, “Actual Problems of the Modern Medicine: Bulletin of Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy”, “Hematology. Coordinating Investigator of the Local Non-Interventional Disease Registry “Assessment of Therapeutic Approaches in NAFLD in Contemporary Circumstances in Ukraine and NAFLD Correlation with Risk Factors” (ATTRACTION: DIREG_L_04443) and Non-Interventional Prospective Epidemiological Study “Assessment of Risk Factors, Patient Profile and Current Approaches to the Treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome in Ukraine” (Ibs-Control”).

Honored Master of Science and Technology of Ukraine (2016).

Awarded with the Order of Merit, 3rd degree, according to the decree of the President of Ukraine (2020) for personal significant contribution to the development of national science.

President of the Ukrainian Gastroenterological Association.

Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine grant holder for young scientists (1996-1998, 2000-2002). 1 research work for Doctor of Medical Sciences degree, 9 researches for Philosophy Doctor degree, and 13 researches for Magister of Medicine degree were performed under the supervision of I.M. Skrypnyk. 1 research work for Doctor of Medical Sciences degree and 5 researches for Philosophy Doctor degree are ongoing.

Author of 950 research publications, including 21 patents of Ukraine for inventions, 14 monographs, 13 textbooks, and 21 training manuals, among them “Clinical Gastroenterology” (2004), “Clinical Hepatology” (2007), “Pharmacotherapy of Gastroenterological Disorders in Therapeutic Practice” (2007), “Ferrum Deficiency States” (2010), “Clinical Features, Neurological and Somatic Complications of Alcohol Consumption” (2015), “Prevention of Non-Infective Diseases” (2016), “Gastroenterology” (2017), “Internal Diseases” (2019).
