Born in Agbandi in Togo, Professor Dr. Kossi Bollanigni Amey holds a Doctorate in Engineering Sciences from the University of Lomé, Civil Engineering option after a Design Engineer diploma and a Higher Studies Diploma in Applied Computer Science.
Lecturer-Researcher at the University of Lomé in Togo, Professor Dr. Amey is Director of the Research and Development Structure of FORMATEC (ERDF) and Director General of the FORMATEC Institute (Institute of Technological, Economic and Administrative Sciences). He has also held several positions of responsibility, among others, Technical Advisor to the Prime Minister of Togo in charge of infrastructures, Deputy Director of the National School of Engineering (ENSI) of the University of Lomé, Head of Department of Basic Sciences from the same school, Director of the Higher School of Applied Technology (ESTA), Member of the Standards Development and Quality Management Committee.
Prof. Dr. Amey is the author of two books published by Editions Universitaires Européennes and thirty scientific articles in the field of civil engineering, construction and materials science:
• Amey Kossi Bollanigni, 2020. «Granular potentials of sandy coastal sediments - Distribution laws and models», «Potentialités granulaires des sédiments sableux des littoraux - Lois et modèles de distribution»; Editions Universitaires Européennes; ISBN: 978-613-9-53347-3; OmniScriptum Publishing Group; Germany.

Professor Dr. Kossi Bollanigni Amey has also participated in thirty international scientific conferences and symposia. He has evaluated manuscripts for several international scientific journals.
In teaching, Prof. Dr. Amey directs and examines several doctoral theses. He has also supervised and evaluated several hundred master's, engineering and license theses. He is the author of several course materials for Master, License and Technician's Brevet. These course materials serve as tools for valuing the results of research work making it possible to provide students, decision-makers, scientists, civil engineering practitioners and the population as a whole with the various results resulting from its work.
His research areas are:
• Valuation of local materials (wood, sand, gravel, plant fibers, plastic waste, clays, etc.) with a view to their optimization in construction in Africa;
• Characterization of the wind parameters with a view to setting up the Regions-wind maps for better stability and ventilation of constructions in Africa;
• Development of labor yields and cost control techniques for the construction of structures in Africa.
Professor Dr. Kossi Bollanigni Amey has received several distinctions:
• Honorary Professor at the Academic Union Oxford UK;
• Name in Science from the Academic Union Oxford UK;
• World Champion in Civil Engineering awarded by the International Agency for Standards and Rating;
• Associate Professor (CAMES).
Study “Law of Distribution of Quantities of Shells on Togolese Littoral”.
This study aims at analyzing the repartition of the quantities of shells of sand sediments of Togolese littoral, and at determining the law underlying their longitudinal and transversal distributions. Two hundred and ten (210) samples had been collected all along the Togolese littoral starting from Togo-Ghana border up to Togo-Benin border. These samples dried at 105°C during 20 hours are subject to the test of sieving. Each refusal on sieve is tested against construction of shells by hydrochloric acid. The determination of the quantity of shells according to their size and to longitudinal and transversal distributions on the littoral is completed. As a conclusion, the quantity of shells in the sediments is getting lower and lower starting from the aerial mid-beach (14.2%) to the mid-foreshore (11.80%), and getting higher and higher from the mid-foreshore (11.80%) to the low-foreshore (13.32%). It is getting lower and lower according to the direction of sediments’ transportations. This quantity of shells is high (40.87%) in the fine-grained sands (ϕ2mm) and low (>24.26%) in the average-grained sands (0.125mm≤ ϕ≤2mm). The average quantity of shells of 12.67% is lower than the recommended maximum quantity (30%) for the sands used for concrete. Thus, for the concrete works, the littoral sands might be seen as useful since they are granulating for concrete.
