Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Academician of Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Dr. Sabyrbek Dzhumabekov also is the Chief Traumatologist-Orthopedist of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

He defended his Ph.D. thesis at the Central Research Institute of Prosthetics and Prosthesis Design in 1991. Later, he defended his doctoral dissertation at Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy (1995).

Professor Dr. Sabyrbek Dzhumabekov is the author of 4 monographs, over 517 scientific papers, 109 inventions and 28 rationalization proposals.

He prepared 10 Doctors of Science, 44 Candidates of Science; 25 candidate and 6 doctoral dissertations are at the stage of completion.

Professor Dr. Dzhumabekov has operated more than 32 500 patients.

For his work, dedication and commitment to science Prof. Dr. Dzhumabekov has received national and international recognition:

• Best Young Inventor of the Republic of Crimea (Simferopol), 1990;

• Laureate of All-Union Competition for Young Scientists and Specialists (Donetsk), 1991;

• Laureate of the Youth Prize of the Kyrgyz Republic in the area of science and technology, 2000;

• Honored Doctor of the Kyrgyz Republic, 2003;

• Laureate of the United Nations Great Gold Medal of Intellectual Property (Geneva), 2006;

• Honored Scientist of the Kyrgyz Republic, 2008;

• Laureate of the Kyrgyz Republic Government Prize in the areas of quality “SAPAT”, 2008;

• Laureate of the International Prize of the CIS countries in the field of science and education "Stars of the Commonwealth", 2011;

• Order of Friendship from the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2nd class (operated more than 3,5 thousand citizens of Kazakhstan), 2013;

• Silk Road Gold Medal for contribution to health promotion (People's Republic of China), 2014;

• Chevalier of the Order of Manas of the Kyrgyz Republic, 2nd class, 2016;

• Medal of the All-Russian organization "Russian Union of Afghanistan Veterans", 2017;

• Twice Laureate of the State Prize of the Kyrgyz Republic (2010, 2019).

In 2008, he was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of the University, and was given the diploma ‘Professor-Visitor’ from St. Louis University (USA). Professor Dr. Sabyrbek Dzhumabekov is an Honorary Member of the Missouri Association of Orthopedic Traumatologists (USA), as well as an Honorary Resident of the city of Santa Cruz (USA).

International Institute of Planetarium named one of the stars "Sabyrbek Dzhumabekov" (Illinois, USA, 2009).

Since 2019, Professor Dr. Sabyrbek Dzhumabekov is Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Since 2017, he is the Honorary President of the Eurasian Congress of Traumatologists and Orthopedists.

He became a Prize-winner of 5 silver medals at the Exhibition-Competition of Inventors of the Middle East Countries in Kuwait (February 2017).

Honored Scientist of the Kyrgyz Republic, in 2019 he was awarded the State Prize in Science and Technology of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Professor Dr. Sabyrbek Dzhumabekov is a member of the World Surgical Society of Orthopedic Traumatology SICOT, EFORT, AAOS, ASAMI, COA, TOTT, etc.

He is the Chief-Editor of the journal "Traumatology and Orthopedics" of Central Asia, and also a member of the editorial board of the journal “Bulletin of Traumatology and Orthopedics named after V.I. Priorov", and a member of the editorial board of the international journal "Osteosynthesis".
