Shashank earned his Master’s degree in Mechanical Systems from the University of North Texas (UNT), where he developed expertise in systems engineering, product design, and mechanical analysis. During his studies at UNT, he gained hands-on experience and conducted research in robotics, engineering design, simulation, and tolerance analysis, which formed the foundation for his work in medical robotics.
Before completing his Master’s degree, Shashank earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from JNTUH in India. This program gave him a deep understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and the integration of complex systems. His undergraduate project on ‘Bio-engineered Robotic Ornithopter’ earned him the Designer Award from his college and a $2,000 grant for his research.
Shashank currently works as a Senior Product and Systems Engineer at Capgemini Engineering, where he leads a team focused on developing system engineering models for cross-functional collaboration in new product development. His work involves system architecture, risk management, and modeling and simulating complex systems.
Previously, Shashank was a Senior Systems Engineer at THINK Surgical, where he played a key role in developing robotic platforms for total knee replacement surgeries. He was involved in system design, testing, and developing robotic systems, contributing to the successful launch of a miniature surgical robotic system.
Earlier in his career, Shashank worked at Auris Health, where he focused on integrating robotics into medical systems, including developing and testing robotic arms and other critical components. His contributions helped improve the reliability and performance of these systems.
