Bakhodirjon Shermuhammadov was born on 10th June 1973 in the Rishtan district of Fergana region, Uzbekistan. He graduated from school with a gold medal and applied for a Bachelor's degree to study at the History Faculty of Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami (1990-1995).

He obtained a Master's degree in Economics at the Institute of Finance in Tashkent (1996-2001).

Bahodirjon Shermuhammadov received a Ph.D. from Tashkent State Pedagogical University, studying between 2006 and 2009.

Bahodirjon Shermuhammadov worked in the following positions:
• From 1990 to 1990, teacher at a sports school for children and teenagers in Rishtan;
• From 1993 to 1995, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan at Tashkent State Pedagogical University;
• From 1996 to 2001, Chairman of the Center of the "Kamolot" Youth Fund at this university;
• From 2001 to 2002, First category accountant of the institute's Accounting Department;
• From 2002 to 2003, Assistant to the Governor of Yakkasaray District, Tashkent;
• From 2003 to 2004, Senior specialist on social issues at the Municipal Administration of Yakksaray District;
• From 2005 to 2006, Senior specialist on economic and social development issues;
• From 2009 to 2011, Vice-Rector at the Institute of Textile and Light Industry in Tashkent;
• From 2011 to 2012, Senior specialist on social protection issues at the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
• From 2012 to 2015, Senior specialist on youth policy issues of this organization;

• From 2015 to 2016, Senior specialist on coordination of the activities of public youth organizations at this organization;
• From 2016 to 2017, Senior specialist on issues of youth and other public organizations at this organization;
• From 2017 to 2018, Deputy Head at the Republican Spirituality and Enlightenment Center;
• From 2018 to 2019, Chief consultant of the Department for the Development of Mass Media, Spirituality and Enlightenment, Culture, Art and Creative Organizations under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
• From 2019 to 2020, Deputy Minister for Youth, Spiritual, and Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
• From 2020 to 2021, Vice-Rector at the Institute of Chemical Technology in Tashkent;
• From June 2021 to the present time, he is a Rector at the Fergana State University.

Prof. Shermuhammadov took part in the development of more than 100 state and government decisions on the organization of work in the public and spiritual-educational sphere and the implementation of state policy on youth.

In 2008, according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Professor Bahodirjon Shermuhammadov was awarded the "Sign of Uzbekistan" honorable badge.

In 2021, Professor Shermuhammadov received the commemorative medal for the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev.

He was awarded the 1st-degree Diploma and a commemorative statuette for winning the "Best University Rector of the Year 2022" traditional competition, which was conducted among universities' students based on a survey to evaluate the activities of rectors of higher education institutions of the Republic.

In the last few years, he received more than 10 "Thank you" letters from prestigious organizations (ministries, embassies, political parties, universities, etc.) for his devoted services in developing education in Uzbekistan.

Professor Bahodirjon Shermuhammadov published over 100 scientific works, including 3 monographs, 4 textbooks and training manuals, 60 scientific articles, and about 100 teaching-methodical manuals.

More than 10 articles have been published in prestigious scientific journals of foreign countries, such as the USA, England, France, China, and Russia, and he has participated in more than 20 international scientific and practical conferences.
