About Winner

Odiggo is a startup focused on solving car problems globally by providing car services in minutes to businesses and car owners by building a platform that connects the whole ecosystem in one single place. Odiggo operates a marketplace that connects car owners with service providers who can solve their problems, from servicing and repair to washing and maintenance.

It was supported by angel investors and funded by Y Combinator, 500 Startups, Plug And Play, Goodwater Capital, SEEDRA Ventures, LoftyInc Capital, and Essa Al-Saleh.

Automotive tech app Oddigo has identified an opportunity in the $61 billion market for automotive parts and accessories in the MENA region. The start-up was launched in Egypt in the end of 2019 and entered the UAE market in November 2021 with a plan for a GCC wide expansion in the medium term, followed by global growth in the future.

Car owners have always found it difficult and time-consuming to take care for their vehicles. People spend hours looking for a car part or a good quality and reliable service provider to fix their vehicles. Odiggo's value proposition is "Car services in minutes", so they are very focused on being the fastest option for the customer. Thus, Odiggo meets the needs of the market by connecting the best-fitting suppliers and car service providers to car owners, saving the latter valuable time and effort. In addition, Odiggo receives the supply from the vendors, so the prices here are below market prices.

In 2019, Odiggo began building an infrastructure to connect mechanics with cars to help 1.2 million users in Egypt to fix their vehicles, serving over 76,000 customers. When the pandemic hit, Omar and his co-founder did not know what this would mean for their company; however, what happened next turned out to be the complete opposite of any of their expectations. The pandemic had a positive impact on Odiggo as a start-up, as people were, unfortunately, unable to purchase their car parts in-store or directly from a car garage as those were closed due to the lockdown measures. Due to this, for the first time ever, some people started to look for online alternatives, and they found Odiggo, a safe marketplace that catered to all of their car needs in one place without leaving their homes. During the first lockdown, Odiggo had its highest sales day ever in terms of sales, and four days after that, the number doubled.

The future for Odiggo involves one key goal — making it convenient for every car owner to take care, service, and maintain their car. Cars are getting smarter with every passing day, and there are thousands of auto-tech start-ups today, which makes it easier for Odiggo to evolve faster and to drive convenience to every car owner globally.
