About Competition

Every year, the best-known university rankings publish their yearly result of the top universities in the world. Whether it is international university rankings, academic rankings of world universities, or local rankings, these lists of prestigious institutions bring a lot of buzz and attention. However, those ranking results are not a big surprise in most cases, with American and British universities taking the top spots, with only minor changes from one year to another.

However, plenty of lesser-known universities do not have a big budget to promote themselves or do not meet all the criteria set by rankings. And maybe a university is not the best at everything, but it can do a few things perfectly.

The “University of the Year” Open International Competition, being conducted by the International Achievements Research Center (IARC), provides an opportunity for higher education institutions to showcase their achievements to a vast and growing global community. Explicitly designed for universities in countries with economies in transition and developing economies, it aims to highlight all the outstanding achievements that institutions in these countries have shown over the years.

Purpose

  • Publicly recognize and reward innovative higher education institutions that have demonstrated great potential and creativity to be world-class establishments locally, regionally, or internationally and that have made a notable contribution to education and science
  • Develop international collaboration between universities, stimulate collaborative research programs, as well as international staff exchange and international internships for students
  • Promote excellence in various fields of Education and Science

  • Success in the Competition assists in extensive interaction with the most influential universities across the globe, such as the development of international cooperation between universities; it stimulates collaborative research programs, international staff exchange and internships for students, etc.
  • The Certificate of Recognition will stand out your University as an exceptional institution, highlight its leadership and international recognition, and will be served as a strong third-party endorsement for its achievements, which increases their value

All entries that have passed those stages will be judged by a representative panel of experts from across the world's higher education sector. The experts will measure an institution’s performance across four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook.

Here, the following criteria will be taken into account, including but not limited to:
 Curricular Aspects
 Teaching-Learning and Evaluation
 Research, Consultancy, and Extension
 Infrastructure and Learning Resources
 Student Support and Progression
 Governance and Leadership
 Innovative Practices

Due to the high number of submissions, we will only contact those shortlisted. If you haven’t heard from us, you will not have been shortlisted on this occasion.

The Judging Committee’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into concerning their decision.
